Had to go to Petone so followed my GPS and it sent me over the Paekakariki Hill. It may have been shorter in a straight line but was certainly slower – very windy and steep in parts. Got there eventually though I hit a speed bump at the bottom of the Paekakariki Hill which was in the shade and I did not see it, and the poor old bus almost took off. Quite upset me!
Arrived in Wellington, picked up parcel from Lynn in Petone (Forgot my diary, thanks Lynn) and spent the afternoon on the foreshore at Petone. Walked into town and got a really good haircut from an old chinese guy who spent about 4 times the normal time on my head and then charged me $12.50. Could almost live here on a good day.
Staying the night at the end of Owhiro Bay Road, it is magnificent.
