Up Kauaeranga Valley behind Thames.
Road in was good and relatively short. Only about thirteen kilometers. Was a stormy day but relatively sheltered up in the valley and I chose a sheltered spot to park. There were about five camps to choose from and I chose Totara Flats. No cell reception.
Went for a walk the next morning as I thought the rain had finished, but was wrong. It hosed down at the point I turned around to come back. Being cunning, I had selected a relatively flat walk. Note the track marker in the following shot, the track had decided it wanted to become a lake. It was a little wet underfoot and I got quite wet.
Shot of the river and the hills in the background when I set out. Low clouds adding atmosphere.
